            The Value of Changing Futures

If someone in your family has Alzheimer's disease, you know

that you could get it, too. Because no one is exempt from

                    cognitive decline.

Fortunately, Alzheimer's dementia is no longer the fatal

diagnosis that it once was thought to be. In fact, cognitive

decline can be prevented, arrested, or reversed.

This fact is outlined in the groundbreaking book,

The End of Alzheimer's, by Dr. Dale Bredesen, a

neuroscientist from UCLA. Dr. Bredesen has dedicated over

30 years of research toward understanding the underlying

mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease.  His original prescription

to avoid the ravages of cognitive  decline is now being

refined and realized through Apollo Health's ReCODE and

                    PreCODE programs.

Apollo Health is at the forefront of research on Alzheimer's

disease prevention andmemory-loss reversal. Serving as the

Chief Science Officer, his research teams have made

discoveries that have changed our understanding of the

fundamental nature of this condition, leading to

                    revolutionary treatments.

The Health Coaching provided by Changing Futures was

established to guide you, or someone you love, as you

implement this outstanding program to prevent, arrest, and

                    reverse Alzheimer's-type cognitive decline.

Re-Imagining Futures: My Story

Untitled

My name is Ann Rinke Sandberg, and I am an Apollo Health Coach.

My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 1994. Over the ensuing 12 years, my family witnessed her unrelenting path into nothingness.

We tried everything that we thought might help: From the "newest anti-Alzheimer's drug", to removing the aluminum pans from the kitchen, and the fillings from her teeth.

It never occurred to us that we should change her diet, or look at her blood.
If we had, we might have seen that her homocysteine level was much too high, or that her zinc was very low. We would have, for example, understood that gluten and sugar and other simple carbohydrates would make her outlook worse.

When I heard an interview of Dr. Bredesen in March of 2016, I was so excited! His was the most reasonable and hopeful information on prevention that I had ever heard. I gleaned everything I could from reading his publications and interviews, and started myself on his plan. With the help of my physician, we did blood and genetics testing, and then, I followed up with changes in my supplements, diet, and sleep patterns.

Today, thanks to Dr. Bredesen and his many colleagues, we now know what to do. My goal is to help me, my family, and my human family avoid what we went through with our mother.

Through the Apollo Health network of trained health coaches, doctors, nurses, dieticians, and other health care professionals, Dr Bredesen's treatment is now available to all

Together, we can do this!

Let's Build a Partnership

Natural Herbs

Through the Apollo Health ReCODE and PreCODE protocols, we can work together to provide focused, continuous care.

Since the programs have a lot of moving parts, we will take an "iterative" approach, as the various parts are addressed over series of visits.

You will have many constants, such as making good food choices and reserving eight hours nightly for sleep. And there will be variable components, as we strive to "optimize" your blood biomarkers through diet, exercise, nutritional supplements and other factors. Brain health is complicated!

As your Apollo Health Coach, I will

  • encourage and guide you

  • teach you about the big-picture value of the various components of your individualized plan

  • facilitate making appointments with your health care providers, and collaborate with them on your treatment plan

  • help you understand "what's next"

  • explain many of your test results.

I am on this road with you.  I, too, am following Apollo Health's program.  I understand the challenges of staying well.  I know what it is like to lose someone you love from Alzheimer's disease, and I am committed to changing your future...and mine, too.

Experience

I have worked in a scientific capacity for most of my career. For example, in the early 1990's, I co-owned and operated Intermountain Laboratory. This business primarily provided air monitoring, owner representation and project documentation during asbestos removal projects. As president and director of the lab, I engaged in project monitoring, microbial sampling, lead testing, the teaching of OSHA regulations for asbestos workers, the analysis of asbestos-laden air samples using phase contrast microscopy, and the oversight and editing of all project reports generated by laboratory personnel.

I was Air Quality Director in Pennington County, South Dakota for five years.  As an EPA-mandated Air Quality Control Zone, Pennington county was required to regulate particulate emissions.  In this role, I interacted with the public regularly and was interviewed often.

Air Quality Assessments was a business I created to provide local services to people and businesses with a variety of air quality issues, from household molds and radon to worker exposure monitoring.

As a social worker, I advocated for patients' best interests as I served on the Pennington County mental illness board. Over twelve years, I and my fellow board members carefully heard the patient's case details, from which we determined the least restrictive, yet most beneficial alternative for people who were hospitalized against their will. In this role, I had the opportunity to routinely interview psychiatrists, witnesses and psychiatric patients, many of whom were afflicted by Alzheimer's disease.

As a pharmaceutical sales representative for Professional Detailing, Inc., I intensively studied the drugs I was assigned to market. At the medical clinics, I would then explain each product's dosing and side effect profile, as will as its effects on the targeted human body system.  My primary focus was cardiovascular care. Most valuable to me during my tenure as a drug rep was the requirement to read and understand research-- a skill upon which I have relied often in my professional development.
